At Stockport Gin School, you'll become a gin distiller for the day, creating your very own gin recipe using a traditional copper still. Whether you're looking for a unique experience with a partner, a fun day out with friends or an unusual gift for a gin lover, here's everything you need to know before booking.

Q: How much does the Gin School experience cost?

A: We offer two Gin School ticket options, depending on whether you'd like your own still or prefer to share the experience.

• Individual Gin School Experience: £90. Have your own copper still, create your own bespoke gin recipe and take home your very own 70cl bottle of gin.

• Shared Gin School Experience: £150 for two people. Share a copper still with a friend, partner or family member and work together to create one bespoke gin recipe and one 70cl bottle of gin to take home between you.

Both options include expert guidance from our distiller, a distillery tour, gin tasting and G&Ts throughout the experience.

Q: What happens during the Gin School experience?

A: You'll get hands-on experience creating your very own gin from scratch!

Our expert distiller will guide you through the process, helping you select your botanicals and develop a recipe that's unique to you. You'll learn about the distilling process, use your own copper still and discover how different botanicals influence the flavour of your gin.

You'll also enjoy a tour of our working distillery, a tasting of our gin range and G&Ts along the way. Best of all, you'll take home a 70cl bottle of the bespoke gin you've created.

No two recipes need to be the same, so it's a brilliant experience for anyone who enjoys discovering something new.

Q: Do I need any previous experience to make my own gin?

A: Not at all! Our Gin School is suitable for complete beginners as well as gin enthusiasts. Our expert distiller will guide you through every step, so you can relax, get creative and enjoy the experience.

Q: Do I need to bring my ticket with me?

A: There's no need to print your ticket. Simply bring proof of your booking on your mobile phone and we'll get you checked in.

Q: I'm driving or don't drink alcohol. Can I still take part?

A: Absolutely! You can still enjoy the Gin School experience without drinking alcohol.

We strongly recommend avoiding alcohol altogether if you're driving. If you'd prefer not to drink, we're happy to provide soft drinks instead. As we're a working distillery rather than a fully stocked bar, please let us know when booking so we can do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Q: I don't like tonic. Can I have a different mixer?

A: Of course! Just let us know your preference when you arrive, and we'll do our best to find a mixer you'll enjoy.

Q: Are children allowed at Gin School?

A: Unfortunately, our Gin School experience is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.

Q: Will I need to bring ID?

A: If you're lucky enough to look under 25, please bring valid photo ID with you. We may need to check your age when you arrive.

Q: Can I book Gin School for a stag or hen party, or a group of friends?

A: Gin School is a great experience for small groups, with a maximum of six copper stills available per session.

If you're planning a stag or hen party, birthday celebration or group get-together, please email bookings@stockport-gin.com before booking. We'll discuss the options available and help you work out the best arrangement for your group.

Q: Is Gin School wheelchair accessible?

A: Unfortunately, our Gin School is located on the first floor and is accessed via stairs, so it isn't wheelchair accessible.

If you have any mobility or accessibility requirements, please get in touch before booking. We'll be happy to discuss the facilities and any restrictions with you.

Q: Can I book a private Gin School event?

A: Yes! We can offer private Gin School experiences for groups, making it a great option for celebrations, friends or colleagues looking for something a little different.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel or change my booking?

A: Gin School bookings are non-refundable. However, if you can't attend, we can transfer your booking to an alternative date, subject to availability, provided you give us at least seven days' notice.

Unfortunately, we're unable to transfer bookings when less than seven days remain before your scheduled session.

If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.

Q: Can I buy a Gin School experience as a gift?

A: Absolutely! A Gin School gift voucher makes a fantastic present for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or anyone who would love to create their own gin.

Our gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be redeemed against a Gin School Experience booking. The recipient can then choose a suitable available date.

Q: Is car parking available near the distillery?

A: There are public car parks and pay-and-display parking bays close to the distillery. Use postcode SK1 1EB when planning your journey.

However, as the Gin School experience includes opportunities to enjoy alcoholic drinks, we strongly recommend arranging alternative transport if you intend to drink.

Q: How do I get to Gin School by public transport?

A: We're within walking distance of both Stockport train station and Stockport bus station, making us easy to reach without a car from Manchester, Cheshire, Derbyshire and all other parts of the UK.

Q: Can you recommend somewhere to stay overnight?

A: Of course! If you're travelling from further afield, there are hotels nearby where you can stay and make a proper occasion of your visit. Get in touch and we'll happily share some suggestions.

Q: Where can I eat or have a drink before or after Gin School?

A: Stockport has a fantastic and growing independent food and drink scene, with plenty of places to explore before or after your session.

Get in touch and we'll happily recommend some local favourites if you're looking for somewhere to eat, have a drink or continue your evening.

Q: I've been to Gin School and want to order another bottle of the gin I made. Can I do this?
